Return to Rhythm

practice. surf. ceremony. presence.

What to Expect

A threshold experience by the sea.

This retreat invites you to step out of the pace of daily life and into a deeper rhythm of breath, movement, ocean, and reflection.

Through deep practice, surf, and community, we create space for renewal, clarity, and joy.

❋ Intentional Structure

Morning guided practice and evening sessions open the body, strengthen the spirit, and prepare the heart for the day’s outer exploration.

Ocean-centered adventures include options for both beginner and advanced surfers, along with nature-based excursions for non-surfers.

A midweek temezcal offers a deep experience of local spirituality and ceremony.

❋ Connection

Connection is a core part of the process. You can choose to use the time to connect with others, connect with nature, or focus on connection with yourself and your purpose.

❋ Expert Facilitation & Instruction

I’ve guided groups in some of the world’s wildest places, from the Alaska backcountry to the Oregon coast, and through the inner terrain of leadership, transformation, and the human heart.

Local guides know the surf, trails, and culture better than anyone. We are blessed to have them join us!

❋ A Supportive Space

This event can challenge you, restore you, set you free, and ground you all at once. Ample choice will allow you to find what you want and need each day.

The flow

Daily Rhythm

Each morning begins with a seated practice by the sea and with the waking soundscape of the jungle. Traditional yoga pranayama is focused on breath, inner awareness, and settling the mind. From there, we move our bodies with breath-focused yoga. Nourishing food follows, and a variety of activities are available for surfers, adventurers, or those seeking rest and rejuvenation. Before dinner each day, we will return to practice, deepening breath, connection, and understanding.

  • “The practice I've learned from Adam as slowed and sharpened my mind in the best way. I feel far more attuned to my body, and my spiritual practice has deepened in ways I didn’t expect. What’s most remarkable is how the experience continues to support and elevate every other discipline in my life.”

    - Jeremy Moore, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Non-Profit Leader, Military Veteran

  • The Ashtanga Intensive Adam led was a very welcoming, supportive, and educational experience. He is able to easily blend his instruction for both beginners and more advanced students. He is able to help you navigate injuries and encourages you in areas your confidence may fall short. This intensive helped kick start my practice.

    Chelsea, Life-long yoga practitioner

  • Adam’s intensive left me wishing I could practice with him more often and feeling deeply inspired in my own practice. His devotion to the lineage and the depth of his own experience are clear through his teaching. His supportive assists helped me access poses I hadn’t been in for years. I left feeling inspired, challenged, and grateful.

That said, El Salvador has one of the lowest crime rates in Central America. In fact, it is on par with Costa Rica in terms of crime.

  • No! All classes in this retreat will be guided. We will explore different series and series tailored to the group and the experience. If you are looking for one of Adam’s traditional Ashtanga style experiences, we recommend another intensive. This one will be strong, breath-focused, and grounded in traditional yoga, but much more fluid; following curiosity and exploration.

  • No problem! If you want to learn, lessons are available (one is included).  If you’d rather not get in the ocean, other excursions are available, and there is plenty to do onsite: beach walks, a pool, sauna, cold plunge, massage, and more.

  • A portion of all income will go to the Mizata Foundation. Read more about their work here.

A visit to one of their projects can be arranged, and future retreats will include a service component.
