Our time together will be a simple honoring of the darkest time of the year, in the light of community, connection, and practice, with an ashtanga yoga and a sweat-lodge ceremony.
Cost kept minimal for accessibility, and participants should plan to attend the full weekend.
We will gather on Saturday afternoon, grounding in place and meeting each other. To begin, we will light the fire for a lodge ceremony and enter solo time. After the ceremony led by Paul Perrotta, we will gather for a potluck dinner. Please bring a dish to share. After our feast, we will enter into the darkness together or alone.
On Sunday morning we will welcome the dawn with a yoga asana (postural) and pranayama (breathing) practice (guided then into Mysore style, appropriate for all levels), a short talk and council, and then breakfast.
Those who want to stay on Sunday afternoon and help prepare the annual Winter Solstice celebration in beauty, care and mindful service, are welcome and deeply appreciated.
The registration fee (below) includes a light breakfast on Sunday and a donation to the land. Overnight accommodations on Saturday are available for an additional $50 for a dome (potentially shared) or $25 for camping. Please call the registrar at 805-646-8343, ext.123 to make your reservations.
Donation/Dana is strongly suggested for the ceremonial team and yoga teaching.
Recommended amount for lodge with Paul Perrotta: $50 - $100
Recommended amount for yoga practice and facilitation with Adam: $50-100
No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
